## The Challenge

A Blue Cross card can mean dozens of different plans. One is approved at Legacy’s New Jersey program but not the others, another is an ACA plan that won’t pay outside its home state, and a third sends behavioral health benefits to a separate administrator. Active coverage alone didn’t tell the admissions team where a caller could go or what the plan would pay for once they got there, so those answers lived with the few people who knew each plan, and every other call waited on them.

## The Solution

Legacy’s team writes what it knows about each plan into Payer Alerts, matched to the prefix on the member’s ID card.
